Choose the shape that best matches the growing space.
A rectangle uses length × width. A circle uses π × radius², with radius equal to half the measured diameter. A triangle uses ½ × base × perpendicular height. All dimensions are entered in metres, so the result is square metres.
For an irregular bed, split it into simple shapes, calculate them separately and add the areas together. That is more accurate than forcing a curved or L-shaped bed into one oversized rectangle.
