TERMS OF USE

Use the tools as planning aids, not guarantees.

Tiny Mustard Seed is designed to support garden decisions. Conditions vary too much for any calculator, forecast or seasonal guide to guarantee a particular growing result.

Garden information and planning estimates

Tool outputs are estimates based on the values you enter, general horticultural planning assumptions and, where available, short-range weather or historical climate data. Real conditions can differ because of soil, drainage, exposure, microclimate, pests, disease, plant variety, maintenance and local weather.

You remain responsible for deciding whether a suggestion is appropriate for your garden, plants, materials and local conditions. Where a seed packet, nursery label, product instruction, qualified professional or reliable local authority provides more specific information, that more specific guidance should take priority over a broad planning default.

Material and quantity calculations

Soil, compost, mulch, fertilizer, water, lumber, container-volume and spacing calculations are intended to reduce guesswork. They depend on the measurements and assumptions supplied to the calculator. Settlement, waste, uneven beds, paths, supports, tapered containers, pressure losses, product density and supplier variation can change the real quantity required.

Bag counts and stock quantities may be rounded upward where products are normally sold as whole units. Before ordering a large quantity of material, check the dimensions, product specification and supplier units independently. A calculator result is not a quotation or a guarantee that a supplier's packaged or bulk product matches the assumed volume.

Weather, frost and seasonal tools

Weather-aware tools use third-party location and forecast services. Forecasts can change and may not represent the exact microclimate of a particular bed, greenhouse, balcony or frost pocket. Historical frost estimates describe past observations and planning risk; they do not guarantee the final spring frost or first autumn freeze in a future season.

Do not treat the absence of a warning in Tiny Mustard Seed as proof that conditions are safe. Check current local warnings, the real weather, soil and plant condition before acting when frost, heat, storms or water stress could cause damage.

Fertilizer, irrigation and plant-care decisions

The Fertilizer Application Calculator performs arithmetic from a product-label rate entered by the user; it does not decide which fertilizer a crop needs or override a product label. Irrigation tools convert measurements, flow rates, area and water-depth targets into planning values, but actual distribution can be affected by pressure, elevation, pipe layout, clogging, runoff and soil infiltration.

Plant-care records and reminders in My Garden describe actions or dates entered by the gardener. A reminder should be treated as a prompt to inspect the plant, not as an automatic instruction to prune, feed, spray or otherwise treat it.

Local-first records, exports and backups

The current My Garden workspace stores supported personal garden records in browser storage on the device and browser being used. Clearing site data, changing browser profiles, using private-browsing modes or moving to another device can make those records unavailable.

Backup and CSV export features are provided to help keep copies of supported records, but users remain responsible for saving any information they consider important. Before restoring a backup, review the confirmation shown by the interface because matching local sections can be replaced by the imported data.

Third-party services and availability

Some features rely on third-party services, such as geocoding, forecast or historical weather providers. Their availability, response times, data quality, licensing and terms are outside Tiny Mustard Seed's direct control. A failed request should not be treated as confirmation that conditions are unchanged or safe.

Tiny Mustard Seed itself may also be updated, corrected, expanded or temporarily unavailable. We may revise formulas, plant defaults, data sources, page structure or workflows when better information or a clearer method becomes available.

Using the site responsibly

Do not rely on Tiny Mustard Seed as the sole basis for decisions involving structural safety, regulated chemical use, food safety, medical treatment, legal compliance or other high-consequence matters outside ordinary garden planning. Follow applicable product labels, local rules and qualified professional advice where those are required.

By using the site, you accept that garden outcomes depend on factors the software cannot observe or control. The aim is to make assumptions and calculations clearer so you can make better-informed decisions—not to remove the need to inspect the real garden.
